Undiscovered Queens-based Diamond Grinder debut with folk-rock gem, “Wonder”

While most new songs feel overpolished, Queens-based folk-rock band Diamond Grinder stand out with their unfiltered, DIY sound.

Margaret Nygard and Eli Recht-Appel, who first began collaborating during high school in San Francisco, officially formed the band in 2021 after moving to the East Coast. The duo introduced themselves to the world in November with “Wonder”, a textured track with tight melodies, gritty guitars and raw vocals that dig past the surface.

Diamond Grinder have transformed difficult feelings into a gem of a track, and with essentially no streams or following, the potential here feels boundless.
